Mandala

1. Have students take a digital photo of themselves. This is my daughter, Katie.
2. Email me at kfontes2@neo.rr.com for the mandala template.
3. Open the photo.  The template and the photo should have the same resolution.
4. The photo should measure about 2.5 or 2.75 inches TALL.
5. Select ALL on the photo. (marching ants marquee will appear around the photo.)
6. Edit COPY.
7. Click on the window with the template. Using the magic wand click inside the first triangle.
8. Remember you have copied your photo - so now all you need to do is Edit - PASTE INTO.
9. Your photo should be in the triangle.  Move it around until you see yourself (this is sort of arbitrary - just pick an interesting view).
10. Now back to your photo - Edit - FLIP HORIZONTAL.
11. Select the photo again - select all - copy and paste into.  But you can see the second photo is not angled right.
12. Align the photos
13. Back to the photo and FLIP HORIZONTAL
14. EDIT COPY
15. Select third triangle EDIT PASTE INTO
16. EDIT TRANSFORM - ROTATE  -45
17. Align the photos.
18. Select photo - flip horizontal again - select all - copy - paste into the last triangle - Edit - Transform - Rotate -90
19. All four pieces of the pie are filled.
20. Now you must flatten the layers. Go to Layers - Flatten image.
21. Using the magic wand select all the white space around the images. Go to Select - Inverse.
22. Edit copy - Edit Paste.
23. Edit - Rotate - 90 degrees counter clockwise.
24. Flatten image again.
25. Use the Magic Wand to select the white space. Select - inverse - Edit copy. Edit Paste. Edit - Transform - Rotate - 180 degrees.
26. Line up both sides and Ta Da.  Your mandala is finished.  They fit onto a CD. You can paste them onto a CD and hang them up in some sort of mobile.
